Technology

Social StudiesThe use of technology will prepare students to become members of a technological society. Students are empowered to be active learners by using technological tools. Technology will help students access and process information, preparing them to be life-long learners.

The purpose for this guide is to provide a framework for St. Louis area Lutheran schools as they adapt and implement the use of technology tools into their teaching and learning environments.

LESA standards adopted by the 2011 Technology Curriculum Planning Committee were adapted from and aligned with the International Society of Technology in Education (ISTE) National Educational Technology Standards for Students (NETS-S).

All of the accompanying activities are intended to model how the standards could be met in the regular classroom setting. Schools and teachers are encouraged to use the LESA standards as a way of aligning their core content area curricula with the NETS-S.

The Technology Curriculum Guide is available by contacting Laura Montgomery at lmontgomery@lesastl.org.
