Going Once...Twice...Sold on Scholarships
Master of Ceremonies, Dan Gray, KPLR TV helped raise record high proceeds at the the 9th annual "Night for Kids" Dinner Auction, Friday, April 12, 2013. Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make this event a success including our sponsors. Under our current grant challenge, that amount will be matched by the Lutheran Foundation of St. Louis. To God be the glory! Some notables include:
- Collectively, volunteers logged more than 612 hours of service
- 35 people volunteered at the event
- Mackenzie Scott awarded the Student Christian Leadership
- David Binder received LESA's Heritage Award
- More than 328 people attended the event
- Silent auction had 362 items
- Live auction had 30 items
- $131,000 was raised, a 42% increase from last year
- Matching gifts will bring that total to $309,000
- Student tuition assistance applications are increasing to an average of 1,200 annually
- In our nine year history, more than 9,000 scholarships have been awarded totaling nearly $6 million
