Lutheran Elementary School Association's Building Blocks
The Lutheran Elementary School Association (LESA) and its collaborative partners offer tuition assistance to children whose families' struggle with the rising costs of Lutheran elementary school tuition. Our mission is to touch the lives of children and families through an academically-focused, faith-based elementary school experience and make a positive difference in their future. Since its inception, LESA and it's Building Blocks Tuition Assistance programs have disbursed 9,393 awards to students in K-8th grade, with awards totaling $6,081,021. Our goal is to make Lutheran elementary school education accessible to all children who apply and qualify.
2013/2014 Tuition Assistance Awards Announced May 24, 2013
Through the bounty of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, LESA is funding $369,114 in tuition assistance awards for 740 qualifying students at 25 of our members schools for the 2013/2014 school year. To God be the glory for moving the hearts of our donors to support children and Lutheran education so bountifully!
Additionally, LESA's member schools raised a collective total of $727,359 to help families in their own school communities with tuition costs! This amount, along with Building Blocks' general funds, will provide over $1,096,000 in financial assistance for the upcoming school year to make Lutheran elementary education a reality for children from all walks of life. Once again, God works through us both individually and as a community of saints to grow His Kingdom! By the April 1 deadline, we received 930 applications. "This year, we saw increases in the number of applications received, the number of applications funded and an increase in the total amount funded," says Sue Nahmensen, Chief Executive Officer. Applicants who applied by the April 1 deadline, award information will be shared with the students’ school administrators on May 24th. Applicant families who applied for tuition assistance will be notified of the award determinations by the school administrators.
All Building Blocks’ and Missouri District funds for the 2013/2014 academic year have been awarded. At this time, applications for Building Blocks and Missouri District scholarships are not being accepted by LESA. Should additional funding become available later in the summer, school administrators will be notified and the application process through FACTS will resume.
Your school, however, may have tuition-assistance resources that are still available, and they may ask you to complete the FACTS tuition assistance application on line at www.factstuitionaid.com. Please contact your school office for additional information.
