LESA's Building Blocks Tuition Assistance
The Lutheran Elementary School Association (LESA) and its collaborative partners offer tuition assistance to children whose families' struggle with the rising costs of Lutheran elementary school tuition. Our mission is to touch the lives of children and families through an academically-focused, faith-based elementary school experience and make a positive difference in their future. Since its inception, LESA and it's Building Blocks Tuition Assistance programs have disbursed 10,399 awards to students in K-8th grade, with awards totaling $6,875,763. Our goal is to make Lutheran elementary school education accessible to all children who apply and qualify.
Application Process for 2014/2015 Tuition Assistance through
LESA’s Building Blocks Program
Need-based tuition assistance is available to students in kindergarten through 8th grade who are enrolled in LESA-member elementary schools for the 2014/2015 academic year. Funding for tuition-assistance is provided by generous donors and an endowment established through the assistance of the Lutheran Foundation of St. Louis.
Note for 2014/2014 Tuition Assistance: Applications that were submitted by the April 1st deadline for both the Building Blocks Scholarship Fund and the Missouri District Scholarship Program have been reviewed, awards have been made, and determinations for 2014/2015 school year funding have been reported to the student’s school principal. Families who applied for tuition assistance will then be notified of the award determinations by the school principal.
Missouri District Scholarship Program: At this time, all funds for the Missouri District Scholarship Program have been awarded. Should recipient students withdraw from their school, funds awarded to those students will be redirected to qualifying students on the existing waiting list.
Building Blocks Scholarship Fund: Available Building Blocks’ funding has been significantly reduced since the May 2014 awards. Summer application review will be limited to students who enrolled in LESA-member schools after the April 1st application deadline as new students to the school or existing students whose families have experienced adverse financial circumstances which developed following the April 1st application deadline.
Applications that were submitted after the April 1st deadline for students returning to their schools for the 2014/2015 academic year will be considered only if funds remain following consideration of new students or those whose families are experiencing new, adverse financial circumstances. Please contact the LESA office at 314-268-1520 to inquire on available funding if you are considering submission of an online application this summer. Thank you.
