Lutheran High School Moving to New 4 X 4 Block Schedule for the 2011-12 School Year
The new schedule emulates a college schedule in that students will take only 4 classes in the first term with each class meeting every day for 80 minutes. Then the second term the student will select 4 new classes so that each student obtains 8 credits per year or 32 credits while in high school. Vianney High School is the only school in the area presently using the schedule, although it is much more popular in other parts of the country. The expanded opportunities will allow students to take an extra course to strengthen an academic weakness or additional courses in their subjects of interest. The administration and staff will be sharing more about the new program at an open forum on Monday, January 24th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Commons at Lutheran High. There will also be information about the program shared at the New Parent Information Nights on January 31st and February 8th starting at 7:00 p.m. each evening.
