Lutheran High School, St. Charles Students Give Back
Students from the Lutheran High School of St. Charles County were involved in various community Christmas giving activities during the past two months. In November, the senior class held a food drive for the Oasis Food Pantry. Almost 800 food items were collected through the student body.
In December, the sophomore class collected needed items for a grandmother who is helping to raise two teenage boys. Members of the class donated a number of furniture items, and a collection of gift cards.
The freshman class adopted a needy family of four being raised by their grandparents after both parents were killed in a tragic accident. Through the generosity and thoughtfulness of students and their families, they were able to provided the family of six with gifts of clothing, gift cards, a twin bed, bikes, and a few other gifts.
The LHS Student Council adopted a single mom with three young sons through LFCS. They collected and purchased clothes and toys that were on the needs list for the family.
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes sponsored a warm clothing drive accepting gently used coats, hats, scarves, mitten, blankets, etc., which they then donated to homeless people in the St. Louis area.
The activities provide a wonderful way to grow the spriti of Christian service to others which is an important part of the mission of Lutheran High.
