Lutheran High St. Charles Student Council Receives "Gold Honor" Award
03/26/2009 The Lutheran High School of St. Charles County Student Council was awarded the Missouri Association of Student Councils Gold Honor Award. The state program recognizes councils that provide quality leadership activities and service to their schools and communities. Honor Council designation provides deserving recognition for the efforts of Student Council members and advisors throughout Missouri. All councils who meet the criteria set by the governing Board of MASC and who complete the application are recognized.Some activities complete by the LHS Student Council in the present school year include: Big Brother/Big Sister program with seniors welcoming freshmen, planning of Homecoming and Spirit Week activities, worked on Clean Stream Project with the City of St. Peters, did Trick or Treat for food then donated to Oasis Food Pantry, raised over $800 for Special Olympics through the Polar Bear Plunge, attended Gateway District and MO State Student Council Leadership Conferences, led chapel three times during the year, organized monthly assemblies for the student body, and sponsored various dress down days to promote school spirit.
Members of the LHS Student Council include: President: Jenny Ray, President-Elect: Brian Loesel, Secretary/Treasurer: Jessica Stroder, Alex Capestany, Christa Steinbacher, Sissy Dille, Emily Macke, Ellen Roundey, Sara Twillmann, Rachel Wall, Grant Favignano, Phil Schnefke, Liz Mergenthaler, Melissa Dattilo, Madeline Galucia, Chip Boehning, Jordan Haedike, Amanda Hall, and Alison Von Deylen Amy Eickmann and Amber Maddick serve as faculty advisors.
