Salem Lutheran in Affton Starts Year with Fresh Look, New Technology
Students of Salem Lutheran School in Affton came home to a
school with a fresh new look: a refurbished entryway, carpeted hallways, fresh
paint in several classrooms, and 5 new SMARTboards.
"The new school year has begun with excitement! There is a buzz throughout Salem's hallways. Parents and students are impressed and excited about our new equipment and improved facilities. We are excited to see what God has in store for our 100th year," said Salem's Principal, Scott Akerson.
Prior to the start of the school year thieves broke in, vandalized and stole
thousands of dollars of equipment. As a result, Salem has been richly blessed by
the outpouring of support from both members and the community. Although the loss of information was devastating, the equipment has been replaced and security improved.
Two weeks into the school year Salem was further blessed by the donation of five
additional SMARTboards, enough for each classroom plus the Learning Center,
